ABOUT
Loraine Fajutag is a graphic designer with over 10 years’ experience in the industry. During that time, she has worked at some of the UK’s most prestigious magazines, employing her own unique creative vision to help produce world-class editorial. Her staff jobs have been varied and challenging; as Senior Designer at GLAMOUR, the UK’s no1 women’s magazine, Loraine had a crucial support role to the Art Director and Art Editor – working in this busy, creative environment galvanised Loraine’s ability to think and act quickly, to produce considered and high-quality content. While at GLAMOUR, it was also her responsibility to mentor the junior members of the art team, to develop their skills and confidence – something she relished, and which helped her become an accomplished team leader while adhering to tight deadlines.
As Art Editor on Condé Nast Brides, she was faced with the challenge of making a niche subject feel new, fresh and dynamic every issue. As part of a small team, Loraine’s input in to the creative content of the UK’s leading bridal title was vast, from originating visual concepts to liaising with suppliers (cake-makers, florists etc), photographers and stylists, and art directing shoots.
In her most recent role, as Art Editor at Sainsbury’s Magazine, Loraine was tasked with creating pages that were as aspirational as they were functional. She produced inspiring and beautifully designed pages and supported the Art Director in the daily production of the magazine.
From photography and art direction to illustration and prop making, Loraine has a true passion for all aspects of design. She is well versed in commissioning photographers and illustrators, as well as leading a busy art department, ensuring compelling, dynamic editorial content.
